Art in Churches

In 13th of September 2016 we had a project of our art teacher called Roberto, with the support of "Colégio Agostiniano São José". In this day, we were with our class and, in this project, we have gone on a city tour to visit the most important and historical churches of our city(São José do Rio Preto- SP).
First, we' ve gone to "Paróquia de Nossa Senhora do Sagrado Coração",  a very beautiful and big church with shelters sculptures made of wood and works made by José Antônio da Silva. This church is a harmonious interaction between the modern, the classic and the popular; and, at our opinion this church has a beautiful and with a contemporany  architecture.
Then, we've gone to "Basílica Menor de Nossa Senhora Aparecida" at Boa Vista. It is a church with very detailed paintings, and it is smaller than the first church we've been. This church has been built from 1938 to 1940, and it has 50 meters of length per 20 meters of width and 12 meters of height. It is magnificent construction and it is a very imposing church(because you can see it from a lot of angles of the city and because you can see it from a large distance).
Finally, we've gone to "Igreja Ortodoxa de São Jorge", a small church that was initiated in 1939 to be constructed. The paintings of this church are as detailed as the paintings of the second church and it has a style that remember Byzantine stile with its icons and mosaics.
We loved this tour and we think that this project helped us to know about the beautiful churches that our city has.

My life before paint

I had 8 years old when I definitely started to paint( because I  paint since I was 5, but I started to paint professinaly and with more technique when I was 8). When I had this age, I was passing for a difficult period of my life:so I discovered that I could express all my suffering and feelings with the art.
Before paint, my soul was incomplete. I couldn't indentify myself with no one and I was influenced for the other kids to be someone that I wasn't. I've suffered a lot, I've cried all nights thinking that I wasn't like the other kids because I had interests and dreams that wasn't the same of my friends( or of kids with this age). For an exemple, my peers have wanted to fly or to be an astronaut while I was a realist kid( I've thought their dreams were a silliness); they've wanted to play video games or watch TV while I've wanted to read, write and study; they've wanted to go to Orlando(USA) while I've wanted to go to Europe( to see historical monuments because the history impress me).
The art helped me to be more dreamer and it helped me to be more confident. Stem from art, I dicovered myself and I have uderstood that I was perfect in my own; I dicovered that I wasn't like the others, but it was a good thing because I had got a gift that the other kids hadn't got( it has been comforting for me).Art became my best friend, and my mom, seeing that I had got this talent, put me in a atelier(to improve my gift and to have classes of art).
This classes have been the best hours of my week and, by my teacher called Daniela, I learnt lot of things. By this classes, I improved my paintings ( and, at the same time, I improved my way of being).
Without art, I would be nothing because it has become a part of me. Now, my life is based in be myself,  be happy and be a generous person; and all of this has been possible by art and by my unconditional passion: Paint.

Thank you art to change my life

My life before How To Get Away With Murder

We started to watch How To Get Away With Murder(HTGAWM) this year and we simply felt in love. This series has changed ours lives because we were thinking to study law but we are in doubt at that moment.

The plot of this series is about an  insane woman that is a professor and a criminal lawyer, she seems herself in a crossroads when has to deal with her five students (she has chosen to work with her).

Behind the series we could learn about the routine of a criminal lawyer and we realize that this is what we want to do for our entire lives.

Our Talks

Our Talks is a project elaborated by teacher Viviane, it happens in Colégio Agostiniano São José and it is inspired in a globally known organization called TED (Tecnology,Entertainment, Design). In this event, students can express their feelings and they are free to talk about what they want( like polemic and very discussed sicial issues). The main objective of this project is the dissemination of ideas and I think it is a good opportunity to the students open their mind and talk about issues that they think are important and that can help some person to be happier or more hopeful.
In Our Talks, the students of Colégio São José high school preparate a talk about a issue previously  chosen for them and, in September they present it to a group of other students and the time of the talk presentation is from 10 to 18 minutes.
This year I've been to this project and I loved it. All talks have been interesting and well thought out, and there were some talks that helped me to reflect about issues that I've never thought before. Other upside  of this project is the fact that it contributes to the dissemination of respect and tolerance with regard to the opinion of the others(even you don't agree with the opinion of the person).
I think this project is perfect and I would like to say congratulations to everyone that participated and organized it.If you didn't go to Our Talks this year, you must go there next year.
